Cape Town is surrounded by some of the most gorgeous scenery and picnic spots. In the summer months, locals dust off their picnic blankets and their wicker baskets and take advantage of our gorgeous summer days. It is because of this popular trend that we at Raith Gourmet now offer picnics upon order.
Taken over by Helmut Raith who moved to the Cape from Windhoek in 1989 to open his own butchery, Raith Gourmet has been in the Garden Centre since the 1970’s. Whether you are looking to sit down, grab a take-away or do your weekly grocery shopping, Raith is the place to go. With branches in both Garden’s Centre and High Constantia Village, each shop brings its own unique atmosphere and clientele. Under the new guidance of Namibian born German, Chris, Raith has gone from success to success.
We all love a bit of charcuterie and now at Raith you can get it in a utterly divine gourmet picnic, if we do say so ourselves. All of our gourmet picnics must be booked 24 hours in advance, with next day collection. Our standard picnic includes a selection of deli cuts with German mustard, liver spread, cranberry jelly, Danish blue cheese, Huguenot & Camembert with fig preserve, bean salad, basil, tomato, mozzarella & olive salad, pesto, cream cheese, potato crisps, savoury pastries, grapes or strawberries as well as breads, chocolate and macaroons. We also have a vegetarian picnic for those who are not meat-lovers. Our Vegetarian includes the same items except our deli cuts and liver spread.
Kiddies can also enjoy their own unique picnic including chicken schnitzel strips, tomato sauce; Chop Chop Salad, bread roll, a packet of crisps, sweet pastry, seasonal fruit, Haribo Jellies and juice.
Both our Standard and Vegetarian Picnic is R170.00 for one and R280.00 for two whilst our kiddies picnic is R120.00 per single. All of our picnics are packed in eco-friendly packaging as far as possible and we encourage all of our customers to throw away used packaging after their picnic.
With such beautiful summer days in South Africa, you would be silly to not take advantage of them with a Raith Gourmet picnic.
