The extremely well-known and highly-anticipated show continuously delivers exquisite food, new products, excellent chef demonstrations, entertainment and surprises, 2015’s Good Food and Wine Show was no different. Shining a light on local food, products and incredibly talented local chefs as well as overseas visitors, ‘Cake Boss’ Buddy Valastro and ‘Masterchef Australia’ judge, Matt Preston.
Some of the fantastic chefs that were sharing the spotlight with Buddy Valastro and Matt Preston, included the award winning, popular TV personality Siba Mtongana, from Cape Town who could be seen showcasing her culinary skills. TV host and radio presenter Jenny Morris, one of SA’s most loved food personalities was in action in the Romancing The Stove Theatre. Chocolate expert, Alfred Henry, previously appointed by Lindt and Sprungli as Head Chocolatier, as well as pastry chef and sous chef at different establishments and current executive chef at the Southern Sun Cape Sun Hotel, could also be found showing the crowds what he does best. There were many other exceptionally talented chefs setting trends and putting on displays for the crowds this year.
This year’s show highlights, including the celebrity chefs and local chef demonstrations, also included Romancing The Stove, where couples were invited for live interactive cooking lessons and were shown how to make foods that can lift your mood or add a little bit of something extra spice to a relationship.
Wine tasting was a highlight for many as well as sampling bubbly’s, cocktails, craft beers and spirits at the Art-of-Wine. The Health Hub hosted the ‘Well I Am’ kitchen with health and fitness expert Lisa Raleigh, showcasing health and wellness brands as well as healthy tasters, products and demonstrations.
Specialty Street had a wide range of locally grown products including preserves, gourmet sauces, macaroons, pies and tarts as well as various other sweet and savoury treats that could be sampled and purchased.
The Good Food and Wine Show 2015, drew large crowds from near and far, had masses of local products and food and put on many fabulous demonstrations that were not to be missed.
